Check your benefits

Ask your insurer before beginning therapy.

Some plans reimburse a percentage of out-of-network psychotherapy costs after your deductible is met.

Ask your insurer:

  • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible, and how much remains?
  • What percentage is reimbursed after the deductible?
  • What is the plan’s allowed amount for a 50-minute psychotherapy session?
  • How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

Sessions + practice logistics

SimplePractice keeps the practical details in one place.

For sessions
Secure telehealth, intake forms, and client portal communication.

For billing
Payments, statements, billing documents, and superbills.

The portal and email are not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies or urgent clinical needs.

What platform do you use?+

I use SimplePractice for HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions, scheduling, intake forms, secure client portal communication, billing, payment documents, and superbills. Once you become a client, practice-related forms and messages should be shared through the client portal rather than standard email.

Do you accept insurance?+

I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service. Depending on your plan, you may receive partial reimbursement after meeting your out-of-network deductible.

What is a superbill?+

A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement isn’t guaranteed and depends on your plan’s benefits and allowed amount.

Where do sessions take place?+

Sessions are offered by secure telehealth only. You must be physically located in New York State at the time of your appointment.

How long are sessions?+

Individual psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes.

When are appointments available?+

Appointments are generally available Monday through Thursday after 6 PM, with limited daytime options. Inquire for current availability.

What happens during the consultation?+

The consultation is a free 15-minute phone call. You’ll tell me what brings you to therapy and what you hope to change. I’ll share how I work, answer questions, and we’ll consider whether the fit feels right.

How quickly will you respond?+

I respond to new inquiries within 72 hours.
